When entering the UK from a country that is not on the government’s travel corridor list, you need to self-isolate for 10 days. Test to release is a government scheme that allows you to end your self-isolation early if you present a negative Covid-19 RT-PCR test result. Kings Medical Centre is an approved provider of these tests.
This test must be done at least five days after your arrival to the UK. The day of arrival is day 0 (zero). So for instance, if you arrive on Monday, you will be able to do the test to release from Saturday.
All our tests are carried out in our medical centre and the results are certified by one of our doctors.
If you wish to receive a home test kit for test to release, please contact us and one of our team members will be able to help you.
People travelling to the United Kingdom from outside the Common Travel Area and not travelling from a red list country must:
Before arriving to the UK, make sure to book your RT-PCR test. You will need the booking reference in order to be allowed into the Test to Release scheme.
Upon arriving in the UK, go straight to the place where you will be quarantining.
On day 5 of self-isolation, attend our medical centre with or without an appointment to get test to release Covid PCR test.
Results will be provided within 24 hours. Once you receive a negative test, you will be able to end your self-isolation.
When ordering your kit online, make sure that you double-check your details so that our courier is able to find your home. Orders placed before 2 PM Monday-Friday will be delivered the next working day.
Once you receive the test kit by post, activate your kit online. We will not be able to deliver your results if you do not activate the kit online. We will send you a 4 digit pin code via email which is unique to your barcoded kit. Please click here to activate your kit by entering your kit barcode and the pin number.
You will see that your return envelope already contains a Royal Mail Tracked 24 return label. Once you have finished packing your test, all you have to do is seal the envelope and drop it at the nearest Royal Mail priority postbox, so that we receive it at our lab as soon as possible.
Once your sample arrives at the lab, you will receive your results the following day.
Please note that we do not receive any samples at the laboratory on weekends and bank holidays.
